GPs & Psychiatrists

GPs and Psychiatrists wishing to refer patients for psychotherapy may write to me at 16 Hermitage Valley, Lucan, Co. Dublin. K78 W2C8 or telephone me at 087 9299 412. Alternatively, clients may self refer.

I adopt an integrative approach to treatment which includes (CBT) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, (ACT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Mindfulness.

In addition to my specialisations in anxiety and depression, I have extensive experience of working with clients who are coping with serious illness, end of life issues, chronic pain, or psychosomatic illness. Specific areas of interest are helping adults to mature and treatment resistant conditions.

I also have a great deal of experience of working with clients with psychiatric difficulties:

  • Mood disorders: Bi-polar, Borderline Personality Disorder and chronic depression, suicidal ideation.
  • Eating Disorders: Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa and Binge -eating.
  • Anxiety Disorders: Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

I am happy to liaise with your psychiatric team for best practice care for your patient.

I can help patients with relationship and sexual difficulties. I adopt a Biopsychosocial approach to sexual dysfunctions such as Desire, Arousal, Orgasmic and Pain Disorders and I can talk with your patient about a customised treatment plan which would include CBT.
